%appdata% is a shortcut for the location of AppData/Roaming for the current user; typing %appdata% in File Explorer's address bar would send you there.

That exception is coming deep from Microsoft's own code. It doesn't seem like it should get thrown in a normal scenario. What operating system are you using?

Sprites fail to load properly from time to time. It's rare and pretty much random.
