Nerfing Barrier in Story Mode.

Barrier, with any build using any defense and especially with health potions, is a skill that can keep you alive essentially forever. Factoring in that it scales with your total health, what seems like a spell intended for keeping squishier characters alive instead ensures high-health and decently DEF'd out characters can be killed by pretty much nothing. If you have around 1000 health, Barrier will give you a cushioning of around 330~ extra HP every fifteen seconds. A health potion will restore 150 of that, meaning you can just alternate barrier, health potion, barrier, health potion, and the barrier doesn't even need an animation or charge time. So Barrier is essentially an immensely more useful health potion.

Potential ways to rebalance Barrier:

A) Make the Barrier re-cast timer only begin counting down when the bubble is popped, not after the first instant you cast it.
B) If Barrier is fades naturally, the recast timer stays the same. If your Barrier is popped, you have an extra (30?) seconds added to your cooldown timer.
C) Barrier's protection is no longer based on the target's max HP, but the caster's level * (#). Because giving already tanky characters even more bonus tanking with scaling doesn't really make sense.
D) ... or alternatively, the caster's max EP.
E) ... or alternatively, the caster's remaining EP after casting the barrier on the target.
F) Or, if you want it based more around actually protecting weak characters, have it based off of the target's MATK. A big, beefy, tanky warrior does not need a massively larger barrier than a mage does.

This might seem anti-casual, but you shouldn't be able to take many times over your max HP across a boss battle (unless it's giving you health orbs) and still win. :p

Offering a +1 to specifically A, B, D. E might be a more effective method of balancing turtle characters, but with how taxing the EP costs of summons are, you can end up as low as 25% of your total EP just passively walking around

My beginning experiences found barrier only to truly be "OP" in mob fights, where dying doesn't matter anyway. In boss fights it isn't as OP. Even in normal mode, when 2 other friends and I were facing winter, we got destroyed several times over -- despite using barrier and potions as much as we could. It's okay to have skills that are beginner-friendly. The nerfing makes sense in arcade, but I don't think it's necessary in story mode.
