AFK for Multiplayer?

I just wanted to add that a follow me/pause button would be VERY nice if on coop.
Like in secret of mana if i press a button my char follows the host or sth like that.
Because sometimes ingame my girlfriend had to go to do some stuff and i had to wait for her the other companions.

That wouldnt be a problem if only 2 players are playing but if on 4 player, it could be very annoying.
Or is my suggestion ruining the coop experience? Dont know what do you think?

I like the idea behind a follow function in Story Mode Multiplayer. Even if I don't have anyone to play with I'd still say that it's a pretty neat thing to have. A function like this might open up the afk farming once again because you could have one person moving the other but that could easily be avoided by making your status afk while in "follow mode".

I don't think there is a proper solution to that, other than playing without her or just closing the session and wait to play together at a later time.

Look at secret of mana. I think there it was handled very nice.
Its just like GoodStuff said.
Set Players status to afk so he cant level and make the players char follow the host.
I think that would be a proper solution, because if you think about a multiplayer with 4 Players it certainly IS annoying if you have to wait if anyone have to leave and the rest has to wait for him.

The way it currently is is as follows.

Party of 4 members is playing.
One has to go afk. The others can now do 2 things.
Run in the same map where they are because if not everyone is on an exit you cant switch to another map.
and wait for him. But i think it should be partys choice if they play further or wait for the ally.
Also i think if someone is AFK and the rest of the party dies the same thing should happen as if everyone has died because this could be exploited

Without changing the game in any way, this is solved by having that person disconnect and reconnect when they come back. If NOTHING changes with their character, they might as well not be there. Why ask the Dev's to do something like this over new content?

Because there is no recoinnect.... Edited: This is wrong sorry there is a reconnect

Ah, I see. I would personally prefer in-game dropping in and out of game (given through private inviting).
So that means you'd have to shut off the session, and then re-open it everytime someone wants to leave or join?

Now this is very misleading! It's only while in an Arcade Mode run, and some other rare instances, that you can't reconnect. You can connect to an active Story Mode session virtually anywhere.

Regarding the autofollow it would be a cool function for sure, but a ton of work to implement considering how error prone it will be, and I'll have to implement special cases for a lot of stuff like jumping down ledges, and using phase shift and other puzzle abilities.

Since you actually can disconnect and reconnect in the vast majority of cases, I don't think this would be well spent time on my part compared to other things I could be doing.
