Blocking GUND4M's Rockets and Frostling Scoundrel's Big Snowball?

Is there any specific reason why you can block these attacks? I don't seen any reason as to why you should be able to since the attacks are coming from above. It's not something game changing in any way since most people would probably never even try to block them but I'm just curious to see if there is any reason or if anyone else has experienced this.

Blocking a rocked saved me once in "Don't get hit" challenge.

I don't think you can block them if they're landing right on top of you. I've only ever been able to block them if I were partially away from the zone of impact, so that they were landing right in front of my shield.

You just need to be a tiny amount off center to fully block the damage which to me seems a little weird.
Fun fact: You can block the Living Puzzle Block's jump too. Sadly it doesn't stun him.
