[Gameplay] Starting in wrong place

I just created a new character so that I could do a magic playthrough of the game. I named the character the same as my first character, WaddlyDoo. As soon as I loaded the character, I was in the floating fortress.



As you can see, I have completed no quests.



If this bug can be replicated, it means one could easily snag some good gear too early in the game.
The only suspect thing is that I named my character the same. Can anyone confirm/deny that this is a problem?

That will probably be the game using the same .wld (world) file because you have different characters with the same name. I suspect if you save and quit in a certain place with one character, you could get there early by replicating this process. I think the game will create new and different .cha and .bak files for your character but it doesn't change the .wld

Hm, I can't seem to replicate it. Are you running the Stable or the Frontline version?
