Liftable / Throwable bushes, stones, pots, etc?

Throwing around junk on the ground has always been a pretty fun way to fight a battle in the Zelda series, would it be possible to do it here as well?

It wouldn't necessarily serve an overwhelmingly useful purpose, but I could think of a few:

- Throw them at any enemy to briefly stun them.
- Throw them at bees / other airborne enemies to knock them out of the sky immediately.
- Have arcade challenges based around taking out # enemies / knocking down # bees using only # pots.
- Some sort of power glove mechanic to lift up rocks, unblocking areas impeding your progress as a roadblock in the game or returning to older areas to find hidden passageways.

We will probably (most likely) add some system for carrying stuff around (and throwing them away) but I can't guarantee this will translate to the good old jar throwing from Zelda games. I agree that throwing jars around is pretty fun, but it would also require quite a bit of extra code and interface complexity if it was a common action! You'd need a button to lift stuff with, or a skill/item that you need to bind, or you'd need to use the attack or shield button which can lead to frustrating unintentional mid-fight lifting!

But yeah, a carrying mechanic would definitely be useful for many reasons (puzzles, in-world interfaces, minigames, etc), even if it was only triggered by a semi-rare subset of objects, or by using an inventory item like you suggested!

If I were doing it, I'd make it an item. A series of items, in fact, if not just upgrading upon previous gloves.
Workman's Gloves - Able to lift bushes and pots.
Strongman's Gloves - Able to lift stones.
??? Gloves - Etc

Equip it to a button, press once to lift up something, press again to throw something. Or press and hold down to hold something over your head, release to throw. Maybe you could even pick up stunned enemies and throw them at other enemies. :p

You could have a time limit on the "glove item" like a 10-20 sec timer/buff that indicates that you now can lift things and trow them by pressing X or Z. That way it's up to you if you want to risk picking stuff up in the middle of a fight or just play like normal.

I would honestly just have it like LB and RB simultaneously (something to that extent)
Since all they do is switch your move sets, there would be no consequence or instance where it would
impact combat.

That and I think making it an item (separate items...gross) would just be unnecessary. Unless a unique item that grants lifting passively. Having multiple items of something like that would just involve time wasted going through the menu and swapping between them, taking away from the game.

I'm not playing with a controller so LB and RB is really hard for me. :p There are tons of hotbar space to assign an item to (at least for PC) so that wouldn't be much of a problem. But that's just my opinion.
