If you stand near a Pecko's head when it goes to peck, it's peck will hit you much quicker than if you stand below it. This completely throws off any timings for a perfect guard - perhaps having a set time for the peck to reach you, not a set speed at which the head moves could make it more reliable?

Thinking about it in a 3D environment, if you stand a set distance away from its body, it's head should take a set time to get to you anyway.
