Pixel dimensions for most sprites

The answer is no. This is probably the questions I get asked the most and I've never really understood why ;D
I use the main character sprite as a mesurment/reference tool whenever I design a new monster/NPC to keep things a size that feels "right" in the game world.
If you are doing pixel art yourself, my advice would be to just throw the dimensions out the window and just choose a size you feel comfortable working with
