Pumpkin Woods Issue

I wasn't sure where else to post this, so i put it here. A friend of mine who just bought the game is having issues with advancing to Pumpkin Woods. He has done everything he can up to that point, but the game just tells him it doesn't exist and he is using the Frontline version of the game. We have tried looking up anything related to this, but nothing shows up and we cant figure it out. Any ideas?

What exactly does the game tell him? That really shouldn't be possible if he isn't using a super ancient version of the game!

This is what the game shows him trying to go through there, like he is in the demo or something. He tried force updating and switching between Stable and Frontline to make sure, but nothing changed. It is... really weird.

It's because... this way doesn't lead to Pumpkin Woods. You access it from South Evergrind Fields.

Like @KoBeWi said. YOu have to leave the city South and then go to the right.
