The Startup is very slow on Steam Deck

Yeah I've played it some on my Deck too, and I think the Proton layer is not matching well with how XNA (the framework used for the game) loads assets!
By switching to Proton Experimental, the startup load goes quicker. However, other parts of the game might become unstable - I haven't tested this fully!
To switch Proton version: Cogwheel -> Properties -> Compatibility -> "Force use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" -> Proton Experimental
