Housing, Part 1

Today it was my turn to start working on the Housing part of Secrets of Grindea! Teddy has been working on it already, making a prototype of the system which he used to build this fabulous scene.
​

There are 10 Menu categories so far which include:

Wallpapers
Let's you choose what the walls look like​

"Big furniture"
Will be things like bookcases, fireplaces, beds, big/tall shelves etc.​

Tiny decorations
Stuff you can place on other things (if you like), such as plants, tablecloths, plates, books..​

Special Items
Items which do something cool. Like a jukebox which lets you choose what type of music plays in your house, or something that changes the lighting of the house. These items will probably also appear in the other categories, but we thought it'd be nice for them to have a separate category as well.

Housing, Part 2 + Indie Game Competition Guldchipset!

If you imagine that you've selected a chair, and you're moving it around in the room above, looking for a place to put it - what would you think these icons mean? Are they easy to understand, or do they confuse you?

On a totally different note: We signed up Secrets of Grindea for Guldchipset, an indie game competition held by a Swedish potato chips company! ​

Hand Tool
I probably made like 10 different versions of the hand, before settling for this one. I'm still not 100% satisfied, but I'll give it some rest for now, to possibly rework it later on.

Floors
A very basic pattern, hopefully reminding you of the classic floor tile..

That would be really creepy. XD I would rather have her live in her own room. If I can afford a house at the age of... whatever age the character is... then I sure can spare a room for her.
