Arcadia Forever - Leaderboards Matter

There have been many excellent (as usual) updates to Story Mode and Arcade Mode from the Pixel Ferrets since Chaldo, MLG Noob, and I had it out on an old thread:

http://secretsofgrindea.com/forum/i...gameplay-issues-and-suggested-solutions.8957/

Unfortunately, CGMontage has essentially retired and I am without a local network duos partner... but it occurred to me that there are many potential (new maybe) players who aren't on the Discord getting their panties in a bunch as I continue to find bugs and shatter records without Frosty Friend in Arcadia. They may be interested in at least checking in on our small but competitive group of "git gud" Score-Chasers who invested 100s of hours into the Rogue-Like component of this game. The official website likely appears in Search Results unlike the Discord. So I thought I'd open a thread for public discussion of everything Arcade Mode from when I was #17 and Pydoyks was #1 and it ended on Old Man Winter to the current state/balance with the Super Secret Slapper of a bonus boss on the current iteration of Arcade Mode in 2024. I'm not a fan of "moderation" of comments but let's at least not give the Pixel Trio a rep for hosting NSFW content while we shit-talk their highlights from hard mode story mode and dunk on each other even harder for our respective styes on Arcade Mode.

P.S. Does anyone have a screenshot of the solo leaderboard from when Pydoyks was the champ by a sliver? I didn't think scoreboard resets would be a thing then because I wasn't as active on this site and didn't even know there was a discord in those days......

To keep up with me personally:

Guys, it's your game and ya'll weren't even abusing the supposedly OP Frosty Friend. Shameful, absolutely shameful. I'll include a link to the dev's response to our polite but firm argument over Frosty Friend back in the day at the bottom of this post.

Hard Mode (Expert Mode or w/e) breaks Frosty Friend too quickly generally and it doesn't have the OOMPH it has on lower difficulties. But still, with high MATK, use of the <-- defend command, and good use of upgraded bows and arrows, it can hold up long enough to function as a meat shield on Story Mode. It can even get some kills on weaker units. Given how badly ya'll were getting spanked by your own algorithms and sprites, I thought I'd take it upon myself to recommend a build for the devs if ya'll ever perform a redemption stream of Expert/Hard Mode of this revolutionary ARPG.
I call it:
Freddy's Frosty Friend (FFF for short)
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Priority is Frosty Friend for early silver/gold charge
1 silver point might be needed for blink before 5 silver points in FF, but that's up to the individual
Blink with 3 points is next priority
ya'll will need to modify from there what I did in my Arcade demonstration run because of ya'll's .... current skill-cap from what I saw.
2 silver points for early access to Frost Nova and Ice Spikes (might not be called that)
1 silver point for Lightning Strike
3 silver points for barrier
3 silver points for ATK/MATK buff (it increases FF HP so it is also defensive)
Afterwards, concentrate silvers/golds into Frost section of MATK

Meanwhile, purple talent orbs:
3 into making perfect guards easier is highest priority
5 into Arcane Collar
3 into Charging bow and arrow faster (ya'll need to get better at using the bow as a charge-bow)
5 into Elemental Specialist
3 into stronger potions
5 into faster recharging potions
5 into more arrows

FFF (Freddy's Frosty Friend) gets even more effective with 2 people playing and is designed around the bow as a primary way to support the very buff and capable Frosty Friend. Nova and Spikes can still be used offensively/defensively of course but they are never as quick or reliable or as long ranged as the bow and arrow. You'll notice I don't recommend the EP max/regen or even %MATK (though dmg talent is still worth considering) or CSPD. Item choices should reflect that. I go for hardcore DMG/Crits but I'm me. Ya'll should aim for MATK, HP and DEF with items. It can be very effective in Story or Arcade but it just isn't my personal style. It is too passive and relies on patience but still has enough sustained DMG to get the job done IMO.
