You know, The Thing soundtrack wasn't specifically on my mind when I wrote it, but I do love me some Morricone, and that's a pretty underrated score! I can hear where you could get a parallel from the vibe though. The repetitive bass line and brooding layers. I was definitely going for a "tension and preparation before a great conflict" mood. This album in general I feel like is equal parts "score" inspired and "BGM" inspired.
