I do feel on normal difficulty there are often times when you end up in a situation where its impossible or nearly impossible to avoid damage. One possible bug I got a couple times is he would land directly on my character when he would do ice spikes and it seemed that the one time it happened...

After leaving and re-entering the Temple of Seasons, the wind in the long thorn filled hall way leading to the boss has stopped. Not sure if this was intentional but it makes it very simple to get past a second time.
