The thing is, I take Chemistry at A level, so I have a good idea of what sort of a compound para-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde is, as well as being able to pronounce it
dimethyl: contains two CH3 groups somewhere along the chain.
amino: contains an amine group (NH3)
benz: contains a benzene ring
aldehyde: contains a COH group (which is hard to get and keep, especially in water)
Not too sure on the para part. That's the old naming system for molecules you see, not the new one I'm learning
