[GAMEPLAY] Multiplayer game second person does 1 damage

Just got the game today and made a brand new game and character with a friend. I invited him, got a few levels and he went the magic route. His fireball and other magic skills hit for normal damage but after a bit it did only 1 damage. However the strange thing was that his melee skills hit for over 125 which is pretty OP at level 5 and Under.

I saved the game, both of us closed it, re-opened and he rejoined my session. It fixed it for a little and then went back to him doing 1 magic damage and high melee.

He hosted and invited me and that seems to work so far without flaw.

By any chance, is he switching weapons a lot? In the current version, by doing this, you gradually transfer your MATK to ATK, resulting in very high powered melee damage, but very little magic damage.
