I noticed this when spam-dropping items for trading, so like, spam dropping apples and carrots.
While the other person is picking them up, if they nudge you, it actually moves your selector in the menu.
EDIT: I am now unable to reproduce? I was spam dropping a single item from the "All Items" section (or was it "Misc"?) with the sorting set to "New"... I will try to figure out how to reproduce
