Leaving/Computer crashing during cutscenes in multiplayer

Was playing with my sister, and my laptop accidentally shut down during a cut-scene (the one where you fight the two weaklings on the bridge). On her end, she could not proceed with the fight with Vilya because it was saying, "Waiting for other player" While on my end, I could not re-join the game because it was saying, "Can't join during cut-scene"

I've seen this bug as well with the cursed priestess fight. I was connected to the host then we entered the time fracture, the host continues on while I was stuck in the fight area with the game asking for my friend to join me in the fracture.
We waited for the cut scene to end and she was able to keep playing while I was still stuck.
After I quit and reconnected, Everything seamed fine except I was able to see the priestess over top the fracture. I went over and wacked her a few times and the cut scene started for me then the game crashed. Only for me, host carried on oblivious to the event.
Network Sync issue I wonder.
