Question about arcade mode

I just started playing, and the mayor mentioned something about it being harder if you hadn't gone through story mode yet. I was just curious if anyone could elaborate on that? Do you unlock bonuses that make arcade mode easier by progressing through story mode?

I'm wanting to just hold out on going through story mode until it's completed, but I do still want to enjoy the game in some from or another. Apologies if this question is dumb. I did try to browse through other posts, but did not see anything relevant. Thanks very much!

Hey!

It's a bit ambiguously worded, but what it means is basically that Arcade Mode is hard, and the "tutorial" takes place in the Story Mode. If you start with Arcade Mode, you'll be thrown into the action with no quarter!

It's absolutely possible to start with Arcade Mode if you like a challenge, though!
