ESC open/closes menu. Talking to shopkeeps immediately goes to Buy. Does this happen to you?

I've noticed that for some players, they can press ESC or talk to a shopkeep and everything will be fine.

But for some streamers I've seen, when they press ESC for the first time after loading the game up, the menu will only load so far as to show 'CHARACTER' in the bottom left corner and then immediately close it. This doesn't repeat on future ESC pressings in the same gameplay session. Holding ESC instead of tapping it bypasses the initial laggy ESC simultaneous open/close.

The same exact steps happen for first merchant interactions, but it skips directly into the Buy menu and then doesn't repeat afterwards during the same game session.

This happens to me too. Does it happen to you?

Yes. So annoying when you play that first Arcade mode of the day and everything gets unpaused when you think you pause and you get killed by the Rabbys.
