Apparently having the armour slot be visible would take too much time. It's a shame, I would love it for my Knight Armour to show up on my character.

It could be a robe that is balanced between Attack and Magic Attack, but with minimal defensive properties. Would be great armour for people who are using both Physical and Magic attacks.]

Because I like the robe and I think it has a lot of potential, I did this too.

Interesting. I didn't realize until I saw these side by side that time travel could be used as a potential Spot The Difference clue-giver for goodies, for people with particularly sharp eyes. Cool lookin' sword is missing. :eek:

'Course, it could just be nothing and Spot The Difference isn't being used in time travel area. :D

The Storage Room Ruins

Now that I've made a bunch of rooms & areas in the past version of the time travel area, it's time to start transforming them into their present states, where time had taken it's toll, leaving things forgotten, broken & overgrown.

Steam Capsules

Alright, so before jumping into what I believe will be the final menu edit (the character tab), it's time to start uploading the Steam graphics so we have all of that in place. As I'm sure you've noticed, a bunch of different banners are used throughout the Steam store, and each demo or DLC has to have all of the same banners, whew!

So, here they are, the ones we'll use for now (perhaps we'll update them before actually releasing the finished game, we'll see):

The New Character ID

The final (?!) menu edit is here!! This time, it's the Character tab, featuring a bunch of stats, your pet, and some other random info about your character! Let's begin with the old version:



SO TERRIBLE! There's brown EVERYWHERE, it looks boring, it's uninspiring... Nope, it won't do. I want more colors, more graphics, perhaps some additional for-fun info about your character.

I noticed two things that were a bit off about the storage room.
First off is the bottle on the left, you started out with making a broken version of it, and then you added back the original, unbroken one at a different spot.
There's also the ruined book that appears to have come from nowhere, as the locations and number of books are otherwise identical in the two versions.
Perhaps I'm nitpicking, it was just something I noticed while looking at the video.

I assume some things were added / taken away from the Storage Room between the (however many) years that passed between Past and Present. Unless the Past is literally the very day the town was destroyed, in which case having new things added to that room would be odd.

Plans For the Near Future

Whew! It sure is warm in Sweden now, and when I say warm I mean CRAZY warm! At least that means it's a great BBQ season, and BBQing and planning our tasklists has turned out to be a great mix for us Pixel Ferrets.

This time around we've been discussing further details regarding the time travel temple! I can now reveal that this temple will begin with a mini-boss fight, which we also went ahead and planned ever so slightly. For now, I'll just say one word: fans(which, given the crazy heat around here, sounds about right).

We also made a checklist for the next few things I need to make for the temple, so here's what you can expect to appear here in the near future:

Static Touch

So, as I mentioned yesterday, we decided to replace the old Wind Slash for a new skill called Static Touch!

When casting the spell, a number of cubes will appear around you:




When you hit something with your sword, these cubes will trigger and deal additional damage to the targeted enemy based on your MATK!

Oh yeah, also, no video this time. I've been having some issues every once in a while with the recording software, and this time it crashed silently on startup and I didn't notice until I finished the entire thing... Sigh! Better luck next time (I hope) :D

Today we're launching Secrets of Grindea on Steam Early Access! By the time this post publishes, it's probably due any minute.

We've been working towards this launch for a few weeks, but because reasons, we had to launch it a bit earlier than we anticipated. Because of this change of plans, I've spent most of the day last minute bug testing to ensure that the new stable build isas stable as possible. Depending on how many new users we get from this launch I suspect Teddy will be quite busy dealing with bugs in the coming few days/weeks as well.. How much it'll affect me remains to be seen - graphic bugs/mistakes are known to happen!

Other than that I honestly have no idea what to expect from our Early Access launch. I believe most people who know about the game and are interested in playing it before it's officially done have already bought it through our site. Since we haven't done or plan on doing any additional PR stuff around this launch, I don't know how many additional people will hear about it. So I guess the player increase will mostly depend on how many haven't bought it yet due to the limited payment options of the Humble widget, as well as people who for other reasons didn't wanna buy it until it was properly available through the Steam store.

The thing is, you never know what's gonna happen, ever. When we first started making this game, we made a random devlog thing on TIGSource, which led to a post about our game over at Indiegames.com. At that time, we had no site or anything, all we had was an incredibly silly YouTube video on Fred's private YouTube account, where tons (thousands) of people viewed it before we even understood what happened.

That shit is scary.

Okay so this blog post is late and I'm gonna try to keep this short because I'm ready to crash after 30 crazy hours!

Finally we have a Store Page!
So as I said we did approx. 0 PR for the Early Access launch. Turns out, we still got a ton of attention (so far), so I've spent most of my time awake answering e-mails and checking the Steam communities and other places where people discuss the game, just to make sure everything runs smoothly.

And it has run smoothly! So far, we only have one negative review, which seems to not even be about the game itself, but rather that we don't update it fast enough for his/her taste (it was a Thai review, though, and I'm not sure how reliable Google Translate is). People seem generally happy, and I've been fortunate enough to watch a few really fun Twitch streams where people really seemed to enjoy themselves (and nothing makes me happier than that)!
